HIMALAYAN BLUES FESTIVAL( October 15-October 19)
The HIMALAYAN BLUES FESTIVAL is a Nepali originated artistic-cultural event, whose objective is to promote Blues music developed in the United States and to integrate it with the roots and the folklore of our country, as well as to offer a different alternative from those that are generally presented on festivals and artistic-cultural activities in Nepal.
The festival will offer one week of: Concerts, Clinics, and Conferences on which they will participate renowned American and European Blues musicians, in addition to great Nepali artists in the genre.
This is an integral spectacle which finds a balance between its social, cultural, economic and recreational objectives, which turns it into an event of great quality, in which is expected an attendance of hundreds of foreign and local people within 1 week.
This will be the 2nd edition of the Himalayan Blues Festival and its being made every year in Kathmandu as host city. The objective of the festival is to be made every year bigger and better, incorporating more elements to the program, projecting it as an international level event by its concept, magnitude and dynamics.
Himalayan Blues Festival 2007 featured musicians from USA, Mexico, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Belgium and Nepal. This event was a huge success applauded by both the audience and the media.
